It's a little earlier than I would have liked, but Livia started eating rice cereal today! Her pediatrician is hoping that this will help Liv with all her spitting up so that we can finally get her off her baby Zantac. The Zantac just helps keep the acid in her stomach from hurting her since she spits up pretty much all day long regardless of how long it's been since she's been fed or how long we burped her or held her upright, etc. But we want/need her to come off the medicine so that we can stop messing with with her stomach acid because it's kind of important, so today was the day to start eating solids. What's really strange though is that I looked at Roman's milestones as I was updating hers, and they both had their first bites of solid food one day after they turned four months old. Weird, right? I remember that Roman didn't do very well at first, so we ended up waiting a few weeks after that first time to try again, but Livie did pretty well. I would say she had four tiny spoonfuls, and that's really all she needs for now. And since she's a little small for the highchair, we are feeding her in her swing, which I think would be kind of awesome; I would love to eat all my meals in a big comfy chair. Solid food already? She's getting big so fast!
