It was a big weekend for me because we had a pretty important milestone: Rome's first Raider game!! My boys didn't make it to the playoffs last year, so by the time Rome showed up the Raiders were already finished, and their season opener was the late Monday Night game last week, so Rome has had to wait nearly ten months to see the Raiders. Unfortunately, even with a pretty sizable lead going into the half, our team lost to the Bills 38-35. So sad, but I joked that if Romey is going to be part of the Raider Nation then he better learn how to deal with disappointment and bad calls... I mean, seriously, that touchdown at the top of the fourth quarter WAS NOT A TOUCHDOWN! Okay... I am losing focus. The BEST part of yesterday's game was that Rome watched it in my old Raiders shirt! How cool is that?! I think the shirt was actually purchased for Erin, but I know that Erica and I wore it, too, and now Roman gets to wear it, and I just think that that is super awesome. I know that technically I am not supposed to make Roman like the Raiders (since Marc's a Niners fan we are a bit of a house divided during football season), but I told Marc that if he wanted Rome to change his shirt for the Niner game that we could... but... oh, wait. We don't have anything "Niners" in this house, so I guess Raiders stuff it is! And he just looked soooo adorable in his Raiders shirt. And Roman seemed to actually enjoy watching parts of the game, which was fun to see since he really doesn't get to watch TV, and I wasn't really sure if it would be entertaining for him. Although, just like mom, I am a very loud football watcher, so I think I startled Rome a few times, and I am sure he heard at least a couple f-bombs. Oh Romey... welcome to football!
