This past weekend Marc went up to Buttonwillow with our friend Beau to go racing. So that was his real birthday gift... that and a trailer to haul his race car up there. Still, birthdays have always been a big deal in my family; it's really the one day a year when someone gets to feel extra special. So, since Marc had purchased his birthday (and Christmas) present, I figured that the least Rome and I could do to make him feel special was make a little card for him. I took some pictures and sneaked onto his computer last night and changed his wallpaper so that he would get to see Rome's paint-covered smile first thing in the morning. These are the pictures of our morning yesterday. I think Romey had more fun eating the paint and paper than actually painting, but he got the hang of it by the end of our little art session. And, seriously, thank goodness for non-toxic paint! Marc called me as soon as he opened up his computer and saw the pictures to thank me for the nice surprise.
