Happy 1st Father's Day Marc!
Really this weekend has been one long celebration. We had our sixth wedding anniversary yesterday, and today was Marc's first Father's Day. Since Roman decided to sleep well again last night (please oh please let this new sleep pattern be here to stay!) we got up around 8:30, then I made some mimosas and started on breakfast, and then Marc opened his presents.
I didn't have a picture to put in the chalkboard frame, so Marc asked, "Who are those kids?" Oh, no one dear. :)
Can't you tell that my boys just woke up? At least Rome is being festive with his "I <3 MY DAD" shirt.
So besides the chalkboard picture frame, I also got Marc the book, "GEEK DAD," which was written by one of the bloggers on "Wired" (a magazine that Marc reads), which is all about fun geeky projects dads and kids can do together. And then of course, there's this:
Oh that's right; it's a Great Moustaches of History coffee mug. It beats the crap out of any "World's Greatest Dad" mug and may be the greatest Father's Day gift of all time. Here's a look at the rest of the cup:
There are some pretty funny ones, but Marc got a laugh from #10, which isn't actually a moustache; it's Frida Kahlo's eyebrows! Ha!
And since we were out and about yesterday, we're just hanging around the house today. After breakfast Marc started playing video games, and Roman and I have just been lounging around. I am going to barbecue some Gorgonzola topped steaks tonight, but that's about it.
Yesterday we headed down to La Jolla for lunch. Marc took me to The Brockton Villa for out first date, and that's also where he proposed, so on special occasions that's where you can usually find us. We had a really yummy lunch, and then headed across the street to the park that overlooks the cove. It was such a nice day out, and it really was a great, albeit different, way to spend our anniversary. Roman had such a fun time playing in the grass and watching the pelicans, and I just have a great time watching him. He's so aware of everything now, and his little face absolutely lights up when he sees something new. The pelicans were a huge hit.
