I really cannot believe that it is already August! That is crazy! It seems like this summer is just flying by, and this past week our friends Trevor and Melissa came to visit!! They have two of the cutest little kids in the whole world: Kamden and Adelynn. I just love seeing Roman with other kids because he gets so excited, and he wants to be able to do what they can do. Rome and Adelynn became quite good friends when we went to Sea World. Marc and I bought a double stroller a few months ago (in preparation for number two), so I took that with me for Romey and Adelynn. Look how cute they are... playing footsie already... uh oh.
Sea World was a lot of fun... I haven't been there since Erin stopped working there, so it has been a really really long time. I don't think Roman really understood what was happening at the shows, but he definitely saw the sharks at the shark encounter, and it was pretty funny to watch him watching them swimming overhead. I bought a season pass so that we can head down there often, but I think I will wait until summer is over and all the tourists head home. And I was just so excited for Rome to finally meet his Auntie Melissa and Uncle Trevor. We really miss these guys.
And here's a picture of all the kids together:
And of course we also went and had dinner over at Trent and April's, and we got to meet baby Jack! He is so so so cute, and definitely looks like his dad. Don't you just want to squeeze him?!
And we have also been busy busy busy finishing this house! Hooray! The carpet will be ordered this week, but that means that I have to finish painting in here. Sadly the magenta walls in my office are now gone, since it was a bit garish when that room became the guest room, but I am very happy with the neutral color that's in there now. We haven't decided if that's going to be the next nursery, or if we're going to make that Roman's room, so, for now, that room is going to stay pretty blank. Next on the list: repainting the living room; I am hoping that I can finish that this weekend.
And Marc finally finished the Porsche!! That's a big HOORAY! There are still some things that he wants to add and change, but he was able to take it up to Fontana with his friend Beau for a guys' weekend. Okay, but first a funny story. They were SUPPOSED to take Bert (Marc's truck) up to the track, but Marc calls me pretty upset that Friday morning before they left because his wheel had fallen off his truck. That might not sound so bad until I tell you that this happened while he was driving to work. Oopsies! We can joke about it a little bit now because no one was injured, but there is definitely something off with the truck now that Marc has to fix. Luckily, Beau let Marc drive his truck and trailer to the track, so the weekend wasn't ruined. Here's a picture of the happy boys at the track:
In the next couple of weeks we will have the Stone Anniversary, Erica is coming down to finish going through mom's things, Jennie's bachelorette party in Vegas, and our trip to the bay area. Like I said, busy busy busy!
