We headed out with our friends Mel and Finn again today to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. And today was the first day that Rome really noticed the animals at the Wild Animal Park San Diego Zoo Safari Park. He still wasn't too thrilled about the elephants, but he really really liked looking at the lions. Although, to be fair, the lions were within touching distance and the elephants were not. Anyway, I told Roman that the lions were big dogs, because he knows "dog," and he smiled really big and put his hand on the glass. Of course some guy looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "They're big cats." Yeah, I know that; I'm not a moron, but Rome doesn't know what a cat is a******, and I wanted to give him something to relate to, so leave me alone. Other than that it was a great day. Oh! And the tourists have gone home!! Hooray!! So we were four out of maybe three hundred people there today, and that's just the way I like it. San Diego really is a great place to live... during the off-season.
